Creating Data-Driven Show Projections

As a Broadway producer with a passion for the arts and a deep appreciation for the power of data, I'm thrilled to share my unique approach to show investment.
In an industry that thrives on creativity and intuition, I've made it my mission to bring a new dimension to the art of producing. While many talented individuals rely on their instincts and industry knowledge (and rightfully so), I've chosen to fuse this expertise with the analytical power of historic economic data available within the theater industry.
What sets my approach apart?
1. Data-Driven Show Projections: For each potential project, I aggregate a portfolio of 7-10 "similar" shows and create a sophisticated machine learning model that simulates how that show would've done in the context of the current project of interest (in other words -- if we were to take a show that ran in the Fall of 2014 and pretend it just opened in the Spring of 2023, how well do we think it would do, given how well it had previously done?). With that, we can get a better forward projection of our current show. By factoring in seasonality effects and theater capacity, I provide a detailed and realistic vision of what success could look like. [See example graph]
2. Risk Mitigation: By leveraging data, my approach helps mitigate the inherent risks in show production. We all know that Broadway can be a high-stakes game, and my method enables investors to make more informed decisions while reducing uncertainty.
